"Tree Spree" gathering will occur at North Side Prep High School at 5500 N. Kedzie to honor Arbor Day 2010. The event will be at 12 noon - 4pm and will feature tree planting, music, meals (at discount) by Heartland Cafe and activities for young children.

Repkin Biosystems will be demonstrating various ways Chicagoans can conserve water during a water fair to celebrate world water day

An exhibit recently opened at Discovery World in Milwaukee, Wisconsin focused on the great lakes. In the exhibit is featured a double sided living wall made by Repkin Biosystems.

At 32nd and Urban, 3201 S. Halsted, a display of the living canvas concept is now showing through the 3rd of May. The display is part of the "Act Natural" exhibit curated by Bridgette Buckley.

Michael Repkin will give a lecture, "Water for All" , for Urban Habitat Chiccago at 7 pm at the Budlong Branch of the Chicago Public library

The rooftop victory garden will be shown on CLTV as part of a series on the Urban Heat Island effect and what is being done to combat it. The rooftop victory garden is located atop True Nature Foods on 6034 N. Broadway in Chicago.

The series will air 23,24,25,26 August with reporting from meteorologists that are studying the phenomenon.

A prototype of a living wall system was unveiled today on the Urban Habitat Chicago [ link ]. The prototype was created from found materials from the Chicago area. The 24 February 2007 release party will allow the actual product to be seen by the select members of the public. Vertical growing systems will enable customers to grow a great number of plants in a small space. Plants will be used in air purification and wastewater recycling.
